Data controller

Oktar & Oktar Law Firm, Kervansaray Apt. No: 52, Floor 3, Flat 5, Cumhuriyet Cad., Harbiye, 34367 Şişli / İstanbul (“we”), processes personal data as data controller under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”).

Personal data we process

• Identity and contact data you share with us, such as your name, email address, telephone number and company.
• The content of your messages and any documents you send us.
• Technical data generated when you visit this website, such as your IP address, browser type and time of access, recorded in server logs.

Purposes of processing

• Responding to your enquiries and communicating with you.
• Conducting conflict checks and assessing a potential engagement.
• Operating, maintaining and securing this website.
• Complying with our legal obligations, including those arising from the Attorneyship Law.

Legal grounds

We process personal data on the grounds set out in Article 5(2) of KVKK: where processing is necessary for the establishment or performance of a contract, for compliance with a legal obligation, for the establishment, exercise or protection of a right, or for our legitimate interests, provided that your fundamental rights and freedoms are not harmed. Where none of these grounds applies, we ask for your explicit consent.

Transfers

We may share personal data with public authorities and courts where required by law, and with service providers that support us, such as hosting and email providers, within the limits of Articles 8 and 9 of KVKK. Transfers abroad are carried out only in accordance with Article 9 of KVKK.

Cookies and third-party services

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and the contact page shows an embedded Google Maps map. When these services load, your browser connects to Google, which may process your IP address in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Retention

We keep personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes above and for the periods required by law, after which it is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.

Your rights

Under Article 11 of KVKK you have the right to:

• learn whether your personal data is processed and request information about it;
• learn the purpose of processing and whether data is used accordingly;
• know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom data is transferred;
• request the correction of incomplete or inaccurate data;
• request the deletion or destruction of data under Article 7 of KVKK;
• request that third parties to whom data was transferred are notified of corrections or deletions;
• object to a result against you arising from analysis exclusively by automated systems;
• claim compensation for damage arising from unlawful processing.

You can send your request in writing to our address above or by email to contact@oktaroktar.com. We will respond as soon as possible and within thirty days at the latest, in accordance with Article 13 of KVKK.
